Christmas Gift for Grandparents

christmas gift for grandparents The older and elderly members are not only the base and foundation of the family, but are also the wisdom providers, advice givers and grandparents for their grandchildren. They offer the family love, care and comfort that no other individual can. Through them everyone feels blessed to have them around. Christmas time is one of the best times to show the grandparents and older members of the family just how much you love them. This Christmas, give them the ideal gift of something unique and useful that they can use all year long. Below are some reasons why you should gift the aPallo Cane for your grandparents, or even a loved one.

The Perfect Christmas Gift for Grandparents – aPallo Cane

A nice, new and functional walking cane is something that most senior citizens love. Most enjoy walking during the early hours of the morning or in the evening. Gifting a walking cane is ideal for your grandparents to become much more mobile this Christmas season. The aPallo Cane is considered to be the worlds best walking cane. It is first of its kind, allowing it to be a walking cane as well as a portable sit to stand device. Some of the features that your grandparents will love about their new walking cane include:

  • A lanyard, which is useful to hang the aPallo Cane from the back of a chair, coat rack or even on the wrist. If your grandparent enjoys taking pictures of the family, the aPallo Cane is easy to incorporate in every day life activities.
  • Helps give them their independence back because they no longer need to ask for help to get up from a sitting position.
  • The locking ring allows your grandparent to loosen and adjust the height.
  • A durable, non-skid rubber tip is made to help keep your grandparent from slipping. If your grandfather or grandmother enjoys going out during the day for a walk or enjoys light hiking trips, then the aPallo Cane is a great addition to his or her walking routine – minimize the slips and falls with this one of a kind mobility device.
  • Adjustable pivoting arm allows the handles to be placed in the desired position for taller or shorter users.
  • The LED light on the side of the top handle is a great tool, especially if your grandparent is notorious for getting up in the middle of the night. By using the aPallo Cane, you won’t have to worry about falls in the middle of the night!
  • Both handles on this particular cane have a small storage space. If your grandmother is the type who loves to keep her lipstick on hand, or your grandfather needs a place to store his additional house key, then the small compartments are a great additional feature to the aPallo Cane.
  • The aPallo cane weighs very little at just over a pound and has a 500-pound weight capacity making it usable for almost any senior citizen.

The aPallo cane is perfect for anyone currently using a standard outdated cane. If you know someone who currently uses a walking cane this will be an upgrade that they love. If you are interested in purchasing the aPallo Cane as a Christmas gift for your grandparent, a friend, or yourself, please feel free to purchase yours today!

I really like the LED light feature. Seems that when accidents such as a fall happen, it just makes sense that less tripping and so forth would happen when you can see better…… and a like the idea of the storage compartment included as part of the walking cane, too! Someone has put some practical thinking to work here!

    • Michele

Definitely practical thinking! I don’t ever think I’ve seen a cane with lights before!

  • Stephanie Schneider

I like the LED feature as well, but another great feature is the storage compartment! Perfect for chapstick, keys, or even medication! My grandmother always carries Werther’s butterscotch candies around and would love this. I have never seen a cane with so many feature. It surely beats out the older ones, which are essentially walking sticks.

  • Diamond Grant

Wow, the features on this cane seem to be very unique and practical. I have never heard of a cane with LED lights, but I can see their value for nighttime use. I also like the fact that there is a lanyard to allow for hanging the cane up and out of the way. I have tripped over my grandfather’s cane a few times and it led to some injuries.

    • Stephanie Schneider

I didn’t even think about the value of the lanyard until I saw your comment! That is horrible that you have tripped over you grandfather’s cane, but it makes sense. When people use canes, there isn’t really any other option, but to lean it against something or put it on the floor. It has to be nearby. The lanyard is such a good idea!

    • Michele

The lanyard really is a great idea!

  • Rebecca

So it looks like we’re all in agreement that the LED feature is very useful! That will be sure to keep any avoidable accidents from happening when it is dark out. As much as I have persisted, my grandmother lives alone and this cane will help me feel better about that. There is no convincing her to move to an assisted living home but now, there is less of a need for that.

    • Rachel B

Yes, I love the idea of the LED light! It would put my mind at ease knowing that my grandmother can light her path if she needs to get up in the middle of the night and doesn’t want to wake my grandpa, or if she is outside when it is dark out.

  • Joy

My mother in law is in her 90s and she is struggling with the loss of some mobility. She is very much against the use of a wheelchair, but I think a cane (especially on like this) would benefit her and make her feel more independent. Then she would feel less like she wasn’t able to do things and feel more like her old self again. Plus, the features will meet her needs very well.

    • Jerry

We’re dealing with the same situation with my mother. They always want to do everything on their own! I think once she sees the many different features of this cane (that will allow her even more independence) she’ll be ok with it. Also, I much prefer practical gifts rather than something she doesn’t need or want.

    • Rebecca

Elderly individuals all seem very stubborn when it comes to giving up their independence but I don’t blame them. I know I never plan on having to rely on others just to take care of my basic needs. This cane will help much of our elderly community now and definitely me in the FAR future!

    • Michele

      Couldn’t agree more!

  • Jerry

This is by far, the best cane I have seen on the market. I am so glad I stumbled across this post just in time for the holidays. The features will allow for a higher comfort level than most canes. I love the lanyard feature for easy storing. Stowing canes on the ground can lead to tripping and injuries. Not anymore!

    • Reese

I have to admit that I never considered giving a cane as a Christmas gift, but after seeing all the features on the aPollo cane, I just might have to splurge for my elderly father. How long does it take to get one shipped? Just wonder if there is time to get one before Christmas?

    • Julia

A can may sound like a lame gift but in reality I know someone that really needs it would appreciate it so much, especially this apollo cane. I never knew they made such advanced canes with so many features. I have always just thought of a cane as a candycane shaped piece of wood with a rubber stopper at the bottom! This is way better than that!

  • Rachel B

I went to Amazon to check out this cane, and it looks just as good as it sounds! It also looks like you can use your flexible spending account. It is a great price. I think this would make a lovely gift, since it’s practical, but also kind of flashy with the great features.

    • Michele

Flexible spending accounts can be so helpful!

  • jem1997

What a great solution for such a simple item! Lights, storage, a hanging lanyard, and adjustability all in a package that looks good, too. This really might be a perfect gift for the older or debilitated person who has everything but still needs some help getting around. I like it!

  • NurseEJ

As a nurse, I really like the idea of having two handles on the cane. One of the hardest things to teach older clients is how to get out of a chair using a cane. This aPallo cane appears to solve that problem by having a second handle lower down on the cane — brilliant idea!

    • PB and Running Shoes

I never thought about the benefits of having two handles on a cane. Thanks for pointing them out!

  • Kellie

As a younger person who might use a cane on a temporary basis, I REALLY like the aPallo Sport cane with the Trek ball tip instead of the flat rubber tip. That tip would allow me to change direction without getting “stuck” by the rubber. Like everyone else, the idea of an LED light is also very cool.

    • Chell

Great to hear from a younger person that might be using a cane. I used to work in a busy ortho practice and younger individuals would become very appalled when a physician would recommend using a cane as part of their recovery from a serious injury.

    • Julia

Getting stuck on the typical rubber bottom is a sad reality of most other canes. The unusual circle ball on the bottom of this cane probably took a lot of thought to come up with and will easily solve that problem! And I have to say it just because it’s that cool, but the LED light just put this cane over the top. Who even thought of this stuff!?

    • PB and Running Shoes

This cane is definitely something that could make using a cane less un-cool for anyone who may need to use a cane at a younger age.

  • Chell

These are great ideas. Sometimes I really struggle with what types of gifts to buy.

  • Michele

This cane is perfect. I love the ideas of LED lights. Great for getting around at night.

  • PB and Running Shoes

This cane just looks awesome. It definitely breaks boundaries and is not your stereotypical cane.

    • Isabella Vargas

Agreed. The features on this cane seem so reasonable it really makes you wonder how no one else could have thought of this sooner. Or perhaps someone did but aPallo just acted on those thoughts. Whatever the case, it is a good thing their ideas translated into this creation because I am sure it will help give a lot of people their mobility and indepence back in a way other canes do not allow for.

    • Danny

I wanted to get this as a Christmas present for my grandma but couldn’t get one in time so she will be getting it fin a few weeks! The aPallo cane sounds like the perfect gift for someone who needs a little help getting around but still wants to be mobile and independent.

  • Isabella Vargas

This cane would be a good option for several people in my family. Many canes on the market don’t cater to the people using them and just become a waste of money in the long-term, My grandfather has a collection of canes that have built up because we as a family have just struggled to find one that meets his needs effectively. The pivoting arm and the non-skid tip are features that are extremely beneficial and necessary. Whereas the light and lanyard just offer added convenience. Will suggest this as his next cane choice.

  • Bob Bravski

Agreed Isabella. An affordable solution. My first cane was a cheap blue metal one from Walmart. No LED light, and it was not adjustable. I like this company offers videos on how to use the cane. I learned a lot. Great product.

  • Bob Bravski

I forgot to mention that they have Carpel Tunnel wraps. I was buying a friend a cane and decided why not get my wonderful wife of ,,ahem..many years a wrap. I was surprised. When you buy a wrap you get one for night and one for day. Who knew?

  • Sarah Jo Coryell

I missed this as a Christmas present but I will be getting it for my grandpa for sure for his birthday next month! he is so independent and this type pf cane is just what he needs so he can be safe and still independent. The aPallo cane sounds like the perfect gift!

  • Danny

I love how the aPallo Cane has a light built into it! I can definitely see how this would be a great asset to someone who may have trouble seeing or who needs to be able to get around safely at night. This is something everyone who uses a cane should have!

  • T.J.

There are two features of this cane that I think are just amazing. First is the built in light that makes navigating in the dark or in poorly lit rooms much safer and easier. Second is the unique deign that allows for a person to get up and down easier without the assistance of others, This truly is a great cane for someone who wants to be independent but still needs a little help.

    • Patrick M.

I also like the handle design and the great grip set up for this cane! My grandfather spent a long time trying to figure out what type of cane was best for him, and I still don’t think he is totally happy with his cane. I think I will get him this aPallo Cane and see what he thinks of it!

  • Mara

Giving the aPallo Cane as a birthday or Christmas gift to someone in need of a cane is a great idea! I really like that this cane has a secret compartment that the user can hide things such as keys or lipstick (such a great idea!). My grandmother uses a cane and she has mentioned that she would love something that was a bit lighter for her to use. Sounds like the aPallo Cane would be a great addition to her mobility devices :)
